Review: The product you don’t know your shoes need!

SteriShoe® Shoe Sanitizer

This review is brought to you by AdvertiseWithBloggers.com and Sterishoe.com. I was given a SteriShoe to use in facilitating my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

The SteriShoe® ultraviolet shoe sanitizer is a product that kills 99% of microorganisms that cause toenail fungus, athlete’s foot, infections, and offensive shoe odor.

This is the product that you don’t know your shoes need. We have all been there, been stuck with a pair of smelly shoes that we try and try to get clean. They stink and they make our socks smell and our feet and if we are very unlucky those shoes could do us real harm. Have you heard about the many diabetics who no longer had feeling in their feet and ended up with a cut, and their shoes spread bacteria and they ended up with an infection and then had to have a foot or leg amputated? It happens as my Doctor is quick to remind me every check up. I tell him I take care of my feet but still he insists on checking them just to be sure. It is that serious.  There are 86,000 diabetic-related amputations annually. Maybe you haven’t heard about this though or maybe you think your safe from foot issues if your not diabetic, that isn’t true though.

Why not just use powders or sprays?

Because they just mask the odor and I just don’t trust that chemicals from those products will not enter through the skin of the feet and into the body. The UV light used in this way is harmless to people!

    If the Review Fits!

When I was asked if I would review this product after researching it a bit I couldn’t say no. I knew this product was perfect for my shoes as a diabetic and someone with other autoimmune issues. Also, as a crunchy parent I try and stay clear of harmful chemicals and this product doesn’t use any chemicals!

I also thought about my husband who is in the military. Foot care is a high priority believe it or not as so many soldiers in years past have lost the use of their feet because they did not or could not, take proper care of them. Even knowing good foot care I have to say my husband combat boots stink! His PT sneakers are little better.

Then I thought about the worst stinky shoes in our family, from one of our children whom I will not name else she may never stop bugging me about embarrassing her. Sneakers, sandals, boots, you name it if they have been on her feet they are stinky. She washes her feet often enough I just think it is a matter of how much she sweats in them. Did you know the average person could sweat up to 2 cups of water into their socks and sneakers a day? That moisture in a dark place is a breeding ground for things we rather not think about!

With the SteriShoe® shoe sanitizer being a sized product I thought I would need to purchase a few but lucky for me, the size of most of our shoes falls in the same size!

The box comes with simple directions and there is also an online video you can see below to see how easy it is!

For my first test shoes we used our daughters stinky bright pink sneakers. I asked three people to sniff test them before putting them in. Oddly we all agreed that one shoe smelled different than the other, moldy maybe, both however smelled horrible. If this product works, our sniffers should be able to tell right?

Knowing that SteriShoe® shoe sanitizer should be used often it needs it’s own home in the house, some place easy to access. I picked an old printer table to use that is in my room under a table. Easy to get to, close to my shoes. It requires one plug to run both SteriShoe® shoe sanitizer units.

Results: After one 45 minute cycle there is definitely a difference in the smell! By three cycles there a bigger difference! Looking forward to them being smell free soon and at least not getting bad again!
