Review – The Giggle Farm Book You Color

I have not yet met a child that doesn’t love to color and most all kids love books! One of the problems with coloring books is that they often get sort of colored in and then fall apart. They are not made to last or to be kept. This book, The Giggle Farm, is not a coloring book in that traditional sense. It is more a book that you just happen to get to color! It is high quality children’s book written by Christopher James McLucas a 26 year old self taught writer with a vivid imagination and a story telling style that is special.

Three of my kids dove into this story and coloring it! Little hands all over the place eager to make the already beautiful book bright! The pages come shaded in black and white to help guide young artists and give them confidence in their abilities with color.

This was one of the pages my 8 year old, 6 year old, and 4 year old did together. One of the special things about this book is that it has the added learning tool of open letter built into it. Children can color the letters in a phonics format to help them learn to read and spell. For my kids, a few needed help with identifying vowels so I asked them to color vowels red!

Here is a page with the white letters not yet colored in.

And here is a side by side photo of a colored page and a new page. This book really is one to keep and treasure. It has fun character names like Aster, Crocus, Sunflower and Dandelion! While there are magical things about the giggle farm there are some really down to earth things about farm life too! As we have chickens and a garden I think those things really connected with my children. No talking fruits or veggies here tough!

The price for this book is very reasonable too! You can get a copy for just $10.00!

Great pics to color. Nice to have farms and grass and nature. Better than Barbie or cartoons fake people.
