K5 Learning is an award winning reading and math program for kids grade K – 5th.

StormBaby our 6 year old daughter has been playing with program a bit. Right away she liked the Math as it had bouncing heads go across the screen with a rewarding silly sound. I am not sure why she loved this part so much but she did! There is a lot of repetition but the lessons are not too long for a child’s attention span. The program has clear instructions and talk to the child in a bright a happy way. The wrong answers are not focused on and moving forward is quick.

For the reading lessons my daughter found it annoying that if she knew the answer before the character stopped talking she couldn’t click the answer. It slowed her down. The directions though are clear and your child doesn’t need to know how to read to understand the directions unlike workbooks parents sometimes get to help children practice skills. I think this a great thing as the program doesn’t require a parent to be right there.

There are not confusing options for this program unlike some others, it is straight forward. The child picks either Math or Reading and the program picks up where it left off!  When a lesson is over, it is clear that it is over so a child can confidently say they did both a Math and a Reading lesson if they were asked to.

Over all we think this is a good site to help with Math and Reading! It is bright and fun!

The site offers some free things as well, like an e-book.

K5 Learning does offer free worksheets and you do not have to sign up for their service to use them. They are basic and not what my kids found interesting. I think they make for ok practice but for my kids, we are striving for better.

You can try this program with your child for free with their free trial.

  • Free reading and math assessments
  • 14 days of free lessons
  • No obligations
  • No credit card required

Monthly Subscriptions are $25 for the first child and $15 for an additional child.

Yearly Subscriptions are $199 for the first child and $129 for an additional child.

I am not sure how I feel about the price for this as there are other sites that offer a lot more subjects for less than $25 a month. That might be something to consider when looking for programs for your children.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
