One of the wonderful things about homeschooling for my 14 year old daughter is that she can dress the way she wants and she can do what she likes with her own hair. Sadly schools these days are all about making the kids conform a certain way and individuality is considered distracting. We doing think showing ones colors should be thought of in some negative way and so we help our daughter to try and achieve the looks she likes to express herself.
These days, that means red! First though she needed to do away with the purple and the blue. We bleached it out using a whole tub of bleach and activator. It took out most of the color but left pink, the color she least likes.
While she started the day with mostly blonde hair, she finished it being anything but that color! This is her trying to comb the red color from Color Brilliance Brights Ion Red in better than I did. I really thought she was going to end up with spots not colored or with pink hair.
Thankfully keeping the dye in for about an hour left her hair bright with great coverage. I had no idea it would come out so well and fully. It is brilliant. This is a photo with flash but you get the idea. It is wonderful and she loves it! I hope it lasts a while as dying her hair is a lot of work and well…. the bathroom is many colors as of late. She asked me to post this photo on my blog so she could tell her online cyber school class friends to come see it so here it is! I can’t guess what she will do with her hair next but one thing I know, she will do what makes her happy and that makes me happy for her.
She is a bit behind on her math still so maybe this will help motivate her to get it done so she can go out to see her friends this afternoon and show it off!
To show just how red her hair really is, and that it isn’t some editing fun, she asked me to take a few photos of her outside with my crappy cell phone images.
