#RecycleYourPeriodPad – What does painting with kids and a leaky bladder have in common?

What does painting with kids and a leaky bladder have in common?

The fact that a mess will be made and sure you could use a period pad for both but doesn’t it seem a bit silly? Paper towels are normally used for our water color painting when we are homeschooling and for a light bladder leakage Poise (LBL) new Thin-Shape pads are the obvious best choice.

Still, when given a challenge to recycle (or rather upcycle) period pads I had to see just how helpful they would be in trying to keep painting time clean. One of the good things about pads vrs paper towels is that they do not slide around the table. Another great thing was that there was no color bleeding through to the table, though honestly this is our crafting table and it has colorful battle scars already and I happen to like them as they remind me of wonderful fun times with our children. The pads also pulled the color from the paint brushes well so another color would not be contaminated when the brush was next used. Check out some of the photos from our experiment with using period pads during our creative time:

Even Grandma joined my husband and I and 4 of our children in creating something colorful.

I have to say I love being creative with the kids and this came out just the way I wanted it to and is now in our bathroom with the kids canvas art work.

Of course it was a bit awkward for all of those who know what period pads are actually for. Maybe that was have the point of the challenge, why use period pads when there are products make specially for LBL? The right tool for the project as they say. Of course the kids didn’t know any better! It was all good messy fun. Nothing is fun though about LBL and as a mom that was just pregnant, sneezing and laughing and coughing were not fun. Having something thin and perfectly made for LBL was wonderful! No one knew what I had on. Now that I have had the baby I know my issue will not soon go away either. I am not alone and women deserve the best products to manage this issue! Did you know that 1 in 3 women experience LBL at some point in their lives?

Women with LBL deserve to be comfortable and confident too!
