Do you have issues training your pets?

I have for a long time had issues training pets. I don’t know what it is, even after training classes I just keep failing some of my loved furry family members. I wasn’t sure there was any help for my small barking dogs but then a mystery box showed up that included this little cans of Quit It, a training aide for pets. I had never heard of it before so I am betting many of you having either. In short, when your pet starts doing something they shouldn’t you spray the can facing away from them and anyone else for a short burst. In short, the sound stops them. It makes them pay attention to you, and you can then tell them what they should be doing instead.

From the very time I tried this my 18 month old dog jumped and looked at me. The sound is not loud, it is a hissing sound. It must work instinctively on them as there is no reason I could come up with for this sound to work. No harm is done to the dog, nothing touches them, just hair being pushed out of the can in a hissing sound.

  Warnings:

Never shake the can – Keep away from flames – Never point the can at anyone or any Pet

So after testing this on our older dog we tested it on our puppy. At first he didn’t seem to pay too much attention but after a few days he reacted just like our older dog, her would stop his yapping and pay attention. This has been very useful when someone comes to the door and they bark, when out walking when our small dog would normally try and growl at strangers, and when they are sniffing inside to go potty. It also works when they are chewing on things they shouldn’t. Did I mention I am horrible at dog training? This is really helping in all these areas!

Quit It Training Aide For Cats Too

Fat_Cat_Woofy

We have a very old cat who I am sadly allergic too all these years. It is not a horrible allergy mind you but really gets to me when she sleeps on my pillow and bed a lot. She loves sleeping on our bed and she will get very angry and a bit aggressive if you try and move her. I was using Quit it on the dog to get him stop chewing a book and noticed my cat jumped up and off the bed. I knew I was on to something then so I kept a can on the night stand and sure enough, I would tell the cat to get off the bed and when she wouldn’t I would use quit it up in the air and she would bolt from the room. Win for the human!

I have noticed that now sometimes all I have to do is has Chhhhhhh vocally, trying to imitate the sound and the animals pay attention! It isn’t perfect but we are working on it.

It works on others pets too!

While traveling with our pets we took Quit It Training Aide with us. I was not shocked when it worked on my parents very elderly Min Pin. That dog doesn’t like being told to get off things either! I think this product will work for most people with cats and dogs.

   Quit It for Sugar Gliders

fluffy_inara_edited-1

Yes, sugar gliders! So one thing you must know about sugar gliders is that they are nocturnal, meaning up all night long and asleep all day. Some of crazy people keep very large glider cages in our rooms. This works as I tend to be rather nocturnal myself due to illness. In any case, we have a cage with 4 gliders right now on the other side of the room from our bed. It has two parents and two teens in it. Sadly as of late they have not all wanted to share food bowls. They get to crabbing, and it is a wicked sound, trying to protect what they see as their food bowl. It can go one for hours! I got sick of it one night and rather than turning the light on and making them go hide in their bed so they would stop the fussing I used Quit It to see if it would work. It did, they stopped. It took two times before they quit it for the night but it worked. Now I keep the can by the bed not just for the cat and the dogs correction but the sugar gliders too!

So you know I love honesty so let me share my honest issues with the product, the can doesn’t last very long, we go through about a can in less than a week. Now one can might be all some need to use to train their pets to stop doing something, for us though we need more. Finding more has also not been easy as I love to shop places like Amazon or if I have to shop at a big box store places like Target. There is a website though and they currently sell this product for $10 for 2 cans plus shipping. Great deal for such a great training aide! On a side note, I don’t think this product will work if your pet is hard of hearing!

This is interesting. Should have had something like this when I had my first dog. Would have come in very handy. Thanks for sharing. This would make some good gifts for some neighbors, LOL.

This sounds like a great product. I wonder if it would help my mother in law’s dog focus when it’s time to go out. She’ll sniff everything in the world instead of just going to the bathroom.
