I was asked if I would post this guest post and at first I thought that it didn’t have much to offer my readers. Then I thought, my readers are a bit like me and this topic is actually relevant to my life as I have a grandmother that is hard of hearing and for so many reasons resists getting a hearing aid. I hope when my own parents are older that they are not so stubborn and that I make sure they get the best so they will not lose quality of life.

Today’s technically advanced, sleek, and discreet hearing aids are helping people who suffer from hearing loss regain their quality of life, and feel socially included again.

So what are you waiting for?

Many people wrongly believe that hearing aid prices are far too expensive and unaffordable, but when you think about it in terms of the price of a cup of coffee, being able to hear again starts to seem much more affordable at only pennies a day. When you think of the great benefits of using a hearing aid, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Better Quality of Life
According to a comprehensive research study conducted by the Better Hearing Institute, 80 percent of people with hearing loss claimed satisfaction with life improvements when the addition of hearing aids. 82 percent of hearing aid users would recommend the use of hearing aids to their friends.

This survey is particularly encouraging, given the increase in the number of Americans suffering from noise-induced hearing loss at increasingly younger ages – even as early as their teens.

Forty percent of hearing aid users also claimed in the BHI study that their self-esteem, confidence and sense of safety, working relationships and overall independence was notably improved, while 33 percent claimed they noticed improvements in their sense of humor, cognitive skills, romantic lives and physical, mental and emotional health.

Over half of people surveyed said their hearing aids improved their lives at home, and in social situations, increasing their ability to join in with group discussions or participate in social ventures.

Over 90 percent of all the users surveyed said they were satisfied with the ability of their hearing aids to improve communication in one-on-one situations. And over three in four hearing aid users were satisfied in situations such as small groups (85%), while watching television (80%), outdoors (78%), during leisure activities (78%), while shopping (77%), and while riding in a car (77%).

Seek Advice
If you are thinking about getting a hearing aid, there are many resources available which offer advice, information and even financial aid. If you’re not sure which type of hearing aid is for you, why not take a look at the various types of hearing aid available, and make a visit to your local eye doctor or general practioner..

Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to people in need of a hearing aid. This means you’re not alone and there is help available so you can become one of the vast majority of hearing aid users who experience improvement in their ability to communicate effectively.
