PolarPillow Review – Giveaway

Β  Β The PolarPillow is a pillow to love!

This pillow is exactly what it promises to be, a pillow that is actually cold and provides a comfortable sleeping surface so one can get a better nights sleep. My husband has often joked that I would be happy sleeping outside in the winter, or that I some how have penguin DNA mixed in with mine. I can’t blame him, he is often cold and I am often hot. I often sleep with a window open no matter what time of year it is and so he often has to have more blankets. We all have our issues though right? I mean he does snore something fierce sometimes since coming home from that first deployment.

Back to my issue, I love to be cold! I have had a hard time sleeping for a very long time, the pillow would get hot and I would feelΒ stifledΒ and so would start the dance of flipping pillows and throwing them to the floor and seeking a pillow not yet too warmed by body heat. What I would have given to sleep the night away without the pillow dance disturbing both my sleep and my husbands.

Β  Β What is the PolarPillow?

When I first saw the PolarPillow on another blog I knew I had to learn more. When given the chance to review this pillow I was so very excited though honestlyΒ skeptical. I have seen other “keep cool” products and been disappointed in the past! This was not like that however.

The box arrived very nicely shipped. It was large and heavy. At first I didn’t even notice this large heavy box was from PolarPillow, I mean a heavy pillow? I was surprised when I opened it having half been paying attention to the exterior of the package beyond it holding my blog name. Once opened it was very clear. The packaging clearly explained how to use the pillow in big photos and clear directions. It is a pillow and as such not hard of course.

You can use this pillow with or without the PolarPack and I have done so a few times having forgotten to get the pack in the freezer. I do think these pillows should come with two packs, one for use and one for the freezer making it so that there is always one cold one waiting! The pillow is still cool though without the cold PolarPack and it really is cold.

The packaging says that one will feel the coolness within 10 seconds, I feel it near instantly, specially with the PolarPack inside it. Finally a pillow that understands what I need!

The cooling gel inside this pillow, the part that makes it heavy is a wonder, I can’t even guess at what it is made of or how it is possibly so heavy. My 7 year old son went to move this pillow and ended up dropping it on the floor in wonder. The pillow was not harmed in anyway of course, I am harder on it sleeping at night, I like to fold it and bunch and shape it my situation, often staying up to read and such. My son wasΒ fascinatedΒ by the pillow as are everyone that I show it to.

Being honest I have to course tell you about the things I don’t adore, first as I mentioned, it should come with a second PolarPack, and second it could use to be a bit bigger I think. Though maybe after testing this proved the perfect size given that if it was larger it would be heavier too. Both of these things are my opinion and not a drawback from the product as it is. It is worth every penny to buy one of these if you are someone, one of the many like me, who need the cool side of a pillow and are sick of the pillow dancing nightmares at night.Β PolarPillowSize

Looking at the above photo you can see a “cooling pillow” on the top left, it has some kind of gel bubble top and a memory foam base. You can also see my standard pillows in the pillow cases under it as well. The bottom photo of the solid blue pillow is the Polar Pillow, notice the size difference? But let me tell you, this PolarPillow is so much better than any other cooling pillow I have tried. Others just don’t stay cool and honestly the memory foam one as it turns out hurts my neck andΒ shoulders. Do be sure to put a pillow case on the PolarPillow though, it makes it more comfy as the polar pillow fabric is not very soft. Also make sure the open spot on the PolarPillow that you put the PolarPack into is on the side of the open end of the pillow case for putting it and out easy. Once the PolarPack is in, it really will not fall out. It is not hard to put in, or to take out and it does not freeze hard. It is very comfortable inside the pillow and really adds to a nice cool nights sleep.

Sleeping on this pillow is pure bliss. I adore it and it does everything it promises to do. Finally I have a pillow I love! I have spent a lot of money on fancy pillows over the years, I think all told chances are over $500.00 and never have I been this happy with any of them!
