The day finally comes, the birthday of your darling baby that you have waited so long for. Your heart full and excited, fearful and rushed. Each birth is different of course but I am reminded of my sons birth. We had gone to the hospital hours after my water broke. I was finding labor so easy and was in a bit of denial. When I was finally checked things where set in motion so quickly and suddenly there was no denial, suddenly I could hardly remember how to breath. I was moved right into a birthing room. It hit me, we had forgotten the camera down 4 floors and way out in the parking lot. This was really upsetting. Thankfully a friend was with us and ran out to get it but by the time she got back with the camera baby was near here and she was just able to grab my hand as my husband had my other hand and help me bring baby into the world. Before I knew it, baby was born, tiny and new, and some how we forgot about pictures for hours.
I know I am not the only one this happens too. I also know that it can be so hectic those first few weeks being parents of a newborn that there can seem like there is no time to get great photos of the new baby. Even if we do manage to take some photos, so many of us, too many of us, leave these photos stuck in a digital world with no visible trace of them in our lives.
I think some of the wisest new parents are the ones who make sure they get baby to a photographer who will give them physical copies of beautiful photos that they can put up in their homes and give out to loved ones. Let the photographers take off some of the weight of capturing how adorable baby is. I was thinking of this when I found photos taken on venture baby photoshoots and then seeing their site I knew they understood the spot new parents are in. I love how they let parents know that the perfect time to get baby shots are between when baby is born and 3 weeks and another fun time no one wants to forget is when baby is 6 months old and sitting up and really showing their personality. I love how fun and also tender the site talks about photographing babies. I think that is so important when picking some place to take photos of your baby. I can’t help but think what a great baby shower gift it would be to give or get a gift certificate for a photoshoot for when baby is still tiny.
