This past week has been Banned Book Week! I love this week and take time to check out what books on the lists I have already read, what ones I love, what I want to read next. One of the ones my children specially love was banned in some schools in the 90’s. They said it was promoting disrespect, horror, and violence. While my children are not perfect, they are not little monsters who are disrespectful, horrible, or violent. This books poems are read often actually.
For the past 2 weeks my 3 older children have been on a Kid Vacation with grandparents up north. I missed them dearly and waited all week to go get them and read this with them again and see if they could figure out why anyone would ban it. They can’t figure it out either. Can you?
