Nov 17 — Fall Felt

Meet Squirrel and his counting acorns. There where easy to make just googled squirrel silhouette Printed one and printed acorns the same way, then traced on felt and cut. They stick all on their own to the felt wall. Felt boards are wonderful for pretend play and other learning such as math. I believe hands on is not something “nice” to add for learning but that it is required so that children can picture what they are learning later in their minds, remember what those numbers felt like to touch and move. The brain is amazing and we know that the more experience one has, the more varied those experiences are, the more likely we will remember more later on. You don’t need to be an artist for this, jump on in! The felt is soft and fun!
