Tis the season to be Jolly Falalala….. -sneeze- Is the outside of your home looking like a twinkling wonderland while the inside is a place best left unseen? It happens to the best of us from time to time. For me a Crunchy Mom I feel like I have to balance keeping things clean with having thriving active creative kids and keeping things healthy. It isn’t easy though! With company coming for the holidays that means new germs and a greater reason to make sure things are spotless. Who can afford the best natural cleaners though? We have some, but I always want more! Who has time to make them? You do! I do! We can do it! Here is how!

How to make Natural Holiday Cleaners

Easy House Hold Cleaner

  • One Cup Water
  • One Cup White Vinegar
  • 1o Drops “On Guard” essential oil
  • 10 Drops Peppermint  essential oil
  • OPTIONAL: 1 tsp Castle liquid Soap (or other natural soap)

Mix in a spray bottle and use as an easy house hold cleaner for all surfaces. This is wonderful on toys and walls and door nobs specially this time of year when people tend to get sick! The “On Guard” has a spicy smell and is very effective on germs, as is the vinegar. The peppermint is uplifting and helps bring one of the loved scents of the seasons into the home!

Remember: If your nursing go light on peppermint as this herb in many forms can cause a drop in breastmilk supply!

This easy cleaner is great as an air fresher as well! Spray in the diaper pail, in the laundry room, on the dogs bed!

Happy Holidays from this Crunchy Mommy to all of you!

I really like this dea, and I have each of these oils. Once I get a spray bottle I can’t wait to try it out! I’m so sick of chemicals.

  3. Thanks for this! With kids around, I definitely like to have natural, nonharmful products to use!

I didn’t used to like On Guard as I didn’t like anything “cinnamon” like but then I got sick and On Guard was amazing. The days I used it the symptoms were almost gone, the days I didn’t use it I was miserable and same with the kids. I really love it in the humidifier now and in cleaners! It is one of the ones I will never be without now!

I use vinegar as a replacement of commercial cleaners. Don’t know why I haven’t thought about using essential oils with it? ….thanks, Great Idea!

I like the idea of cleaners that are made with things anyone can pronounce. It just seems like a better way of doing things.
