If these words mean nothing to you, goodness have you been missing a lot! To catch you rather quickly, because everything this month needs to be quick, NaNoWriMo = Nation Novel Writing Month and NaBloPoMo – National Blogging Party Month (I think, this one is new to me honestly!)
With NaNoWriMo the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in 50,000, no editing! Creativity and I believe insanity are the goals. In NaBloPoMo the goal is to simply blog every day. I do near do this as is so it should not be so hard. Right? Right?
In my normal insanity though I have decided to try and do both, family and friends and blog readers forgive me. I have been a part of NaNo going on 8 years now and have won half of them, meaning I made the 50k words. I have never though gotten to edit them and never close to publishing them. The one from last year… there is hope I will get to trying to polish it some day.
Up until the very end of today, the first day I had not even decided what story I would write. I was so torn and neither had a title yet even. My 13 year old was motivating me though, some how the girl that was a late reader, a reluctant reader, and not geeky at all like her parents managed 3k words compared to my barely making word count with 1,794 words. So now I picked a story. So many NaNo writers on the forums have had stories for months outlines, research compiled characters drawn up in ways that would put the most die hard D&D Characters to shame. Here I sit with a little nothing of a plot idea, raw, and a mess.
I am a bit behind on blogging honestly, with the summer events unfolding as they did, my daughter broken foot and surgery and my own health woe’s I have to wonder what I have gotten myself into. Plus 2 of my 4 children have birthdays this month. Plus we homeschool. Plus we are a military family waiting with baited breath to be told the place and time we shall be moving next. (Friends and Family have not been updated on this military turn of events yet, so if they are reading and learning it this way, sorry. Did I mention we have been busy and really who wants to hear this sad news?) They could send us any place at all, we get ZERO say. It makes the head, and heart spin I must admit.
In short, please forgive me if I drop a ball or two, if my posts are a mess and not edited well even. The goal is to be creative and expressive, not neat or understandable. Sorry. LOL
