My Baby is 3

It is hard to believe that my by baby is already 3.

3 years ago found me waking up in labor unexpectedly. The midwife thought it would be another week or 2 and I thought it would be soon, but not that soon. Baby picked her birthday though and it was 7th and our job was to keep calm and welcome her into the world. It was a water birth in our kitchen in Arizona. Daddy was wonderful and supportive and our midwife and her assistant and student midwife helped make it a safe and comfortable experience. It was the best birth experience out of the 6 I have had. I am really glad we had baby at home, studies show that in a healthy pregnancy home births with a midwife are just as safe as a hospital birth, or rather, the risks of a hospital birth are as high though different, than home births. The most important part, baby was healthy and she still is.

Zoey is smart and specially loves anything that has to do with numbers and letters. She has no stranger danger and is not shy, she makes it clear though that there are certain people she adores. She has a good memory and understands more than I give her credit for sometimes. She at the moment is in the temper tantrum phase. I remember my other kids going through this phase but this little girl seems to be the best at it! Without spanking or yelling we helped our older children get past it, so we know our youngest will too. But for now, we are working on our patience, dealing with some sleepless nights, and questioning our expectation. I am blogging about the hard times these days because they can be easy to forget. Some of the things that (sometimes) help calm this little one are walks, reading books, ipad games, rubbing her feet, and drives.

I feel blessed to be her Mommy and I am excited to see how she grows  this year!
