Mom’s Going Back to School with Ivy Bridge College – Giveaway

Pondering New Years Resolutions

This year, like so many others past, find many of us vowing to change something in our lives. I have posted more than a few times already about my changes and I wanted to take a minute to post about two women I know who have changed so much since I have known them, and how they inspire so many others.

 Carrie —

Carrie is a mother of 3, an Army wife, and soon graduating from college with a degree in social work. She is one of the most out going and powerful women I know. She finds herself a natural leader in almost everything she joins and it is a wonder to be hold. She is not “power” crazy, she is simply so helpful that she ends up running things. She also happens to be very good at running things. When ever she says she is going to do something, she does. She has a dream of living close to a great group of friends and having a wonderful community, she has invited my family when my husband retires. Some how I know she will have that community. I have not always known this about Carrie though, I had not always known she does what she sets out to do, so when she said she was going back to college in her 30’s with three kids, I couldn’t picture what that would be like for her. She manages it all though! I am so impressed and I think her children are too!

 Becky —

Becky is also a mother of 3, though her children are all young and one is special needs. When she told everyone she was going back to school to be a midwife and that it would be college first to be a nurse so many people told her she could do it. They still do. I don’t know anyone with doubts. She some how manages to work, be a mother, and go to college. Both women have great grades too. Becky is also a leader, people seem to flock to her though she doesn’t seem to notice how popular she actually is. I don’t think she even knows how much she is inspiring the rest of us. She wasn’t sure she was going to be able to do it all, and yet here she is doing just that. If she can manage to go back to school, can’t any of us?

  Ivy Bridge College (IBC)

So when I heard about IBC online I thought, really now, who has an excuse to not go back to school if they want to? Further, when they offered to give one of my readers a $1000 discount on classes to go to their college, I knew I had to share this. I didn’t know before that Ivy Bridge College is made up of 50% Moms like us! They offer mothers flexibility so they can get the education they want and still focus on the kids. I also didn’t know, and maybe you didn’t either, that they offer weekly support in things like career planning and resume building. They also offer the ability to earn a college degree in as little as 17 months.

“IBC is designed for students to earn their associate’s degree and then seamlessly transfer to over 150 “name brand” partner schools, including Arizona State University, the University of Maryland, Pace University, Pepperdine University, Rutgers University, George Mason University, among others.”

You should check out this college for yourself: http://ivybridge.tiffin.edu/

I am 41 years old and just finished my Master’s in Elementary Education in 2012!! I want to keep going back to school to learn as much as I can for fun about History, new discoveries in the sciences and I should get some certifications for my degree. We are to teach our children by example and I think it is so important for children of every age to see their parents improving themselves through education! It makes for some really great dinner conversations too! Thanks for the opportunity.
