Mom is supposed to snow like that in Egypt?

The short answer: No, sweety, this isn’t very common!

The Washington Post says is a Biblical snowstorm: Rare flakes in Cairo, Jerusalem paralyzed by over a foot and that some sources are reporting this is the first snow fall in places like Cairo. Places like Jerusalem are now at a stand still!

The Pyramids Aren’t Supposed to be Snow Covered Right?

When I first saw the above photo I thought that maybe it wasn’t real. My son asked me if it was and I had to look into it. It seems to be! I grew up wanting to see the pyramids in person and my husband wanted to take me someday. Then though after years in the military and living in the south and then TX and AZ, I didn’t want to go visit more land of sand and heat, after my husbands time in Iraq, he didn’t much want to go visiting anymore either. I have a lot of the snow and so this image made me want to go again, of course seeing the snow is so rare and the chaos it creates, chances are that will never happen. A girl can dream, at least in dreams I can pretend this isn’t a disaster for some!

While some are trying to blame the gods others are thinking about those who don’t have heat and shelter and what can be done to help! There are many Syrian refugees in Lebanon right now suffering this weather. This is no small weather issue and our thoughts are with those not enjoying the snow. Now to find a way to help!
