Little Shop of Learning.

As I finish up putting the hair bows Crystal and I made the last few days up on our online shop I thought I would update our friends who read here about how it is going. We have had many custom orders, only one issue, and many orders to mail out. We have made over 400 hair bows in just over a month. That number seems amazing to me. As we spend more time outside though we spend less time in the craft room so it has been a great time to share more with Crystal on dedication and self discipline to ones work. No matter what we do, we should do it well. Our one issue was a mistake on my part, in the HTML of one of our items. They ordered a few things, one thing did not get charged, so it was not mailed. I got to remind my dear daughter though that the customer is always write, and in this case that is 100% true, but even if it was not, when giving a service do so with honor, grace, and respect. As you might imagine one of the biggest lessons Crystal is taking from are the math ones. Each cute of ribbon, each shipping label, each supply order she helps with in turn helps her get a solid grasp on numbers and some of the ways math impacts her life and why it is so important.

We have had some great and helpful feed back from our testers so far, helping us to improve our bows, quality, and sharing ideas. We are so thankful! Our messy no-slip grip was a worry, as it looks a bit messy, but goodness it works well!

Our math gnomes have been a hit! I really like working with the 100% wool felt though it is very pricey and yes, I flinch a bit when Crystals cuts are off and we end up with scraps, but she is learning about being more mindful and careful and I think that can be hard for any bouncy 9 year old girl with the wind in her wings. 🙂

In closing, thank you all for the support, any ideas on how we might add more education for Crystal to our shop are very welcome. I would like to include more reading and problem solving but I am not sure how.

Bright Blessings,
Kimmy
