Keeping your 2013 Resolutions!

If Your Not Happy, Change Something!

While there are some thing beyond our control in life, like death, there are many things that we simply put up with and don’t bother or dare to change even though they are causing us sadness.

If you don’t have a great relationship with your children, change that! While it takes two, our children mirror us, to change our relationships, we have to first change ourselves.

You might have noticed a few guest posts around here about children and drug. Please, if your an addict, get help. This is a topic dear to my hear as I have a sibling with addiction issues and while his whole family loves him, he seems to love his addictions more than the rest of us. He burns his bridges over and over again and it is tragic. Once again he is in rehab. This time I can only hope that his wife with issues of her own doesn’t tell him to quit and come home again sooner than the rehab says he is ready to. We have all struggles to face on our own and while I am sure she missed him while he was gone over a month and it would be a few months more, as a military wife that was without my husband, pregnant, and mothering 2 other children 2,000 miles from family for 15 MONTHS I have to say, this is the time to suck it up buttercup!

If you made resolutions for 2013, keep them! If you have fallen off those paths you so rightly set out on a month ago, find it again. You only fail when you stop trying!

As for me, it wouldn’t be right to share the short comings of my loved ones without also sharing my own. While I set out to be gluten free this year, and so far I have done so very well with that, I also some how GAINED weight. This isn’t good. Who gives up gluten and gains weight? Me it seems. So something new I am adding to my gluten free goal is starting the 21 Day Sugar Detox. I have to admit, I am addicted to sugar and this first day has been hard and my head hurts, and I am rather grumpy even. Though it is hard to be grumpy with adorable kids and a new puppy! (More on the puppy soon!)

One of the other resolutions I made was to take a photo a day. I did so well with this 2 years back but not so well so far now. I need a better camera is my current excuse. Really I have just been lazy about remembering to do this and I need to better. Life is short, saving the memories is important I think. I will do better.

You can change your life!

I have done it over and over and you can too. It takes being brave sometimes, or simply being willing to fail. If it feels impossible that means that you REALLY need to just do it. Your life is your own, so live it! Excuses will mean nothing on our death beds. Action though will mean everything!
