Hell has no fury compared to The Profit Fans and 240 Sweets!

We can’t believe the mess going on with 240 Sweet!

A little over a year ago I helped my baby sister get into blogging. I loved it and thought she would too. I helped her create freerangemommy.com and it has been such a joy for her. She specially loves reviewing products and she is good at it.

A bit ago she was pitched to review 240 Sweet and gave them a glowing review. Never did the company tell her they had an episode coming out on The Profit, a show I dearly love! When my sister wrote the review the company tagged her social media and linked to it. Nothing odd about that, however they knew days later their company would be in a fire storm and didn’t mention it to my sister. Dear sister woke on the morning of the 27th of January having no idea there was such a show called The Profit or what a mess her blog was now in.

Over night she started getting hate mail. Not only that but brands she was working with suddenly didn’t want her to review for them anymore. All the anger from The Profit fans that was raining down in my opinion rightfully so on 240 Sweet was now raining down on my sister, a little blogger who had no idea what all the upset was about.

Because it was overwhelming my sister asked Sam (one of the owners of 240Sweet) to remove the social media posts to her blog and she will not do it. (updated: after my sister updated her review post Sam finally unlinked to it!) Now my sister is loosing fans and gaining people truly upset with her over the review. We have learned very quickly from this show that people are not always as they seem.

240 Sweet The Profit Review Blog

While it might seem like great PR for 240 Sweet, my sister is a busy mother who doesn’t have the time to handle all the bad publicity over something she didn’t even do. I strongly feel like 240 Sweet pushed my sister under the bus with this. I hope her fans and loyal readers don’t hold this mess against her. Perhaps Sam thinks all publicity is good publicity, I don’t agree.

If you would like to show my sister some support please go like her Free Range Mommy facebook page!

I certainly don’t blame the fans for their upset at 240 Sweet!

Remember that at first Marcus Lemonis was fooled into thinking the owners at 240 Sweet were people to support.

My own father currently has pancreatic stage 4 cancer, it is salt in the wound that Sam would try to use cancer for profit the way she did with Dede. We wish Dede the very best!

Apperently this was posted by SAM on the 240sweet website. I am sick over everything she has done.

It sounds to me like Marcus and the show where exactly right.

What do you think dear readers?

When i saw marcus on THE PROFIT at 240 Sweet. When we all saw the real side of Sam . Pardon my language WHAT A BITCH!!!!!! What hipocrisy! and her wife just looks the other way. She is so weak. Sam definately has anger issues. She reminds me of a bipolar miserable pathetic salivating pitbull ready to attack. Poor Marcus! I felt sorry for the father. Sam just wanted him out. All Sam sees is dollar signs, and she knows her wife is her weak puppet who goes along with whatever she says. All 240 Sweet wanted was publicity. And what REALLYpisses me off is what she did with DEDE!!!! But what goes around ,always comes around ,and boy will it bite back hard.

    • Kimberly Storms

I agree with you! Especially feel bad for Dede whom I hope moves on from this to thrive. She is a beautiful strong person. My Dad is battling stage 4 cancer right now and it is a cause close to our hearts.

      • Che’

You are SO RIGHT! Karma is a bitch and it will come back 100 fold on them. I feel sorry for the bookkeeper who ultimately got so screwed by these two people. Marcus May be able to afford the loss, but she could not. They used and abused her and their other employees. Let’s run them out of business folks! Let’s teach them that they can’t lie, cheat and steal and then be rewarded for it!

    • Billy Void

It’s funny how Sam is so tough but didn’t have enough balls to kick the father out.
You needed a man to do that for you honey! Good luck you lose at life.

Hello I came across your blog, I also watched the show because one year ago I was a employee at 240 sweets. I only lasted one month maybe a month and half due to the way they ran the business, and how they treated the employees. Dede hired me she was the only one besides a handful of employees who were respectful and kind. The work environment is a terrible one Sam is very picky about how employees should act while packaging marshmallows or making them, we were not allowed to listen to music if she was there, talking was pretty much a no go. I work a 8 hour day and not get a lunch break or be able to interact with other employees so though I was been paid 10 an hour it was worth it when I hated going in and the way it was. I think this show did give a correct view of how it is with both Sam and Alexa. I can’t believe what they did to dede because she was there most valuable employee. i only hope she can find something more, a company that appreciates her and values her because she a amazing person. If people take away anything from the show is to appreciate people who work for you and not to be ungrateful and always stayed open minded you dont know everything. Your never to old to learn.

    • Kimberly Storms

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your experience working with 240Sweet. What a mess!I imagine they have gone through many great employees. Sounds like a miserable place to work and that SAM cows everyone, even her own wife. I hope Dede and you both land on your feet after having to deal with that company!

  3. Stephen Lewis

The people that are angry with your sister are wrong. By all accounts of the show the product was good which I’m sure is what your sister was reviewing. I do agree with your analysis of Sam. Hope your sister hangs in there!!

    • Kimberly Storms

My sister really thought the company was a good one. She was fooled. I feel bad for her in this mess. Of course Marcus and Dede are the victims in all this. We wish Dede the very best. Marcus is fantastic and I hope he manages to get his money back!

      • Mark

Sorry to say, but Marcus lost his $100,000 investment. He posted on twitter that he could sue for breach of contract, but it wasn’t worth it to him. He knows that their days are numbered and they’ll reap what they sowed. Before he left though….he registered the domain marshmallows.com….which now redirects people to Sweet Pete’s. Karma can be a cruel mistress….and 240 Sweets is going to find out just how cruel she can be.

        • Billy Void

He walked away but they had a deal right? Like he still owns his percentage? Or how does that work?

        • Jane

LOL, love it, good for Marcus!! When will ugly people learn that their behavior is eventually going to come back on them??

        • Sandra

Mark: well said!! I love the Profit and Marcus is such a classy man. He’s tough and in a good way with integrity. I saw that episode and was flabbergasted. I’m still thinking about that episode!

  4. Carrie

I am so sorry your sister was thrown under the bus with 240 Sweets. They obviously have screwed anyone within a throwing distance of them. Hopefully people now know the truth about their company and they will soon reap what they sow. I am going to like your sisters Facebook Page and hopefully things will calm down. If she explains to die hard Profit fans like myself that she was taken advantage of they will support her. Best wishes.

    • Kimberly Storms

Thank you so much for your support of my sister in this. She was fooled like Marcus was at first. One thing about us fans that love The Profit, we have passion! Plus basic humanity says you don’t manipulate people using cancer….. just so wrong.

  5. lou d

I would think anyone watching the show will never order any item from 240 sweet. The only way to respond to that woman ( lol ) is to boycott their products

  6. Ljr

I wached the show 240sweet and was really beside myself that this woman Sam tried to manipulate Marcus. I hope one thing comes out of that show. I hope they fail. Marcus should sue their ass for all the money he put in plus damages that were incurred for this elaborate ad.

    • Kimberly Storms

I agree, plus using Dede and her cancer to try and get money was just gross!

  7. Tiffany

Wow! Thanks for writing this, and I’m so sorry about how your sister was swept up into this mess. I started watching the episode after they were receiving help, so WOW! I’ve never seen a person (Sam) change so quickly into a snake! Off to like your sister’s page now!

    • Kimberly Storms

Thank you so much for the support of my sister. She was fooled like Marcus was at first too. What a mess.

  8. Bea Bedapurson

I never blog but I googled “240 Sweets The Profit” as soon as I stopped watching the episode this evening because I was so angry. Marcos Lemonis and his show “The Profit” is one of the best shows on television and in my opinion very positive for society. The owners of 240 Sweets, especially Sam, are disgusting. The American economy must really suck if people have no other options but to work for a business that sucky and for miserable people like that. I’d like to take Sam’s hair and slam her face into a batch of her wife’s marshmallow mix for wasting Marcos’s time when he could have helped another business with nicer (kinder) people, and exploiting her employee’s fight against cancer.

    • Kimberly Storms

I agree, it is so clear in my opinion that Sam manipulated Marcus and Dede and who knows how many others to get what she wanted for her company. It was so sad to see how far someone will go…

  9. Mark

Marcus posted on Twitter that his $100,000 was spent and lost. He could sue for breach of contract, but it wasn’t worth it to him. He probably knows they are on their way out of business and all he’d get is a bill for legal fees. One bright spot…Marcus registered the domain marshmallows.com…people who go there now get redirected to Sweet Pete’s. Karma will deal with the rest. Your sister will rebound from this. I already liked her page. 240 Sweets on the other hand…will be a distant memory by this time next year.

  10. anonymous

Kimberly Storms, I feel really bad for your sister and all we can do for right now is bring attention to what Sam has done and the fact she will not withdraw the review…So..I posted a copy of your post to the front page of 240sweets, artisan foods and boycott240 sweets…Hopefully, Sam might change her mind, but with that “woman” you never know but at least more people will see it and hopefully not buy anything form them.

    • Kimberly Storms

Thankfully late today the post to my sisters blog on the facebook 240sweet page was taken down. No apology or anything to my sister of course. I hope Marcus does an update in the future to hear if Dede is doing well after all this. She sounds like a truly remarkable person.

  11. rachel

I would never order anything from 240 sweets from seeing the episode on the profit. She would be nobody I would support on how she was. Sam get off your high horse, you treat people like crap because you think you have power. Your wife even looked like she could not have her own mind because of your pathetic attitude. God luck, word of mouth is power in itself.

  12. andria Goode

I watched the same episode and say it is time to boycott 240 sweets no customers means no $ and never buy any products from that company and drive 240 sweets out of business and force them to go out of business … It’s sad that Sam is proving how terrible a human being she is and Alexa is allowing it to happen she must be in a toxic relationship with her wife Sam and she is giving herself or Alexa no favors. Sorry that your sister was duped by the company chalk it up as lesson learned and move on to do other reviews.

  13. Joan Tibbitts

I love the Profit program and I agree with everything that has been said. THIS BUSINESS WOULD BE BETTER SERVED TO CALLING THEMSELVES, “240 BITTERS” after the mess they made of Marcus’s program. I would sign a petition or boycott to discourage anyone from shopping at the 240 sweets business – they don’t deserve to use the word sweets in their title! There are many more people needing help to jumpstart their business and I vote that Marcus gets his money back! I also have a tumor in my left eye that has been treated with radiation. I was very surprised but interested in Dede’s story.

    • Kimberly Storms

Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear about your Tumor. Dede looks like a beautiful person and her story is touching. Pathetic that Sam would use that on the show to get Marcus to give her company money and then try to screw Dede over. Wishing you the best!

  14. Me

Stumbled on this site when I was surfing reviews of the 240 Sweets episode and just wanted to quickly suggest that you make sure your sister is proactive in reaching out to the readers and respond to the criticism. I haven’t gone to het site but if she hasn’t she should immediately post a piece describing the incident, apologize to her readers and stress that she was reviewing the product, not the owners and that she was not aware of the issues going on within the company. Of course the owners would be nice and accommodating as they wanted to get a good review.

She should also reach out to each individual company that she has worked with to explain the situation to show them that she is proactive and understands the situation. Not sure why companies would fault her but who knows?

    Good luck

    • Kimberly Storms

Thank you for the advice, I will pass it on to her. I believe she is doing all those things now already but it might help her feel supported in her efforts to make this some how better. What a mess! Nothing sweet about the spot she was knowingly put in!

  15. Nan

Sam has no respect she is an ugly person.

    • Che’

Both inside and out! What a crass, horrible, selfish and belittling piece of sh** she turned out to be! She and her wife deserve everything that happens to them!

  16. Mike G

“I strongly feel like 240 Sweet pushed my sister under the bus with this.” How so, they didn’t make your sister do the review. No one pushed her under the bus, she just got caught up in something that she had no control over.

    • Kimberly Storms

They knew a bad review was coming out via the show, they sought out bloggers to do a favorable review right before it hit, they managed to catch my sister and didn’t warn her what was coming. Because of them she lost work with other brands who didn’t want anything to do with 240Sweet mess. That was foreseeable on their part and they simply didn’t care. I think they already showed they will use people to meet their own ends, ethics be damned.

  17. Gail

I took her dare, I emailed the nasty beast and let her have it LOL.. I cant wait for her response!! :p

  18. Anthony Lewis

Another classic example of just how really evil, and down right stupid people can be.

I too, am a Cancer survivor. And I’m extremely appalled at how Sam and Alexa used a Cancer survivor for their own personal profit.(Shameful) They have no idea of what negative cosmic energy they have unleashed against themselves.

And it’s totally ludicrous at how she continues to justify it in her comment above, as everyone else being haters against poor, poor her.

    In-a-nut-shell,
-She and Alexa has little or no moral conscious
-They fail horribly at Business Ethics
-And Sam particularly, has a HUGE passive/aggressive dysfunctionality problem. (A.K.A…..BITCH…! )

The only thing they were right about is, Max did need to move on into his own space, and stop compounding the problems for his daughter. And now that he’s done that, he looks a lot happier. And I wish him the best of luck.

At the beginning of the show, my wife and I were really considering ordering some of the 240Sweets products, but after seeing how they treated their employees, there’s no way in HELL I would a penny on their extremely biased run company offered products.

    Signed,

    -A Cancer Survivor-

I just finished watching the 240Sweet episode of The Profit on Hulu, and as I always do after viewing an episode, I start searching the web to find out if a business is still around or not…That’s how I found your link, and I am so sorry to hear that your sister is getting the brunt of the bad publicity that company brought on ITSELF! About halfway thru the episode, I had a feeling Marcus was going to be sorry he had invested in it because I didn’t care for the idea that they were bringing him in, essentially to get rid of the father, Max. Then when he asked Sweet Pete to stop in to give them some ideas, I was sitting here thinking “Oh man – if looks could kill.” You just knew they hated both his recommendations and Marcus’ and I “loved” the moment when one of them said (can’t remember which right now – sorry) basically that it didn’t matter to her if they used cane sugar or beet sugar. My feeling is if you believe in something, at least offer a friggin’ reason, and then say “Look, I’m open to ideas, Marcus. I know how far you’ve brought Pete.” But no, the one does the staredown and the other just stands by and does nothing but agree with their spouse. Ridiculous. By the end, I felt really bad for Dede (what a scummy way to use her) and even Max (I might consider buying some of his spices if he could guarantee none of the profits go to his ungrateful daughter).

I only started watching The Profit a week ago, as a filler for my usual programs now that they’re in summer hiatus. I love the series, and I’m sorry I’m only now finding out about it. But as I’ve watched, I have seen some business owners that left me screaming at my TV or laptop “For God’s sake Marcus – run for your life!” I was really excited about 240Sweet when I saw their offerings. I’m giving a bridal shower in a couple of months and was thinking that might be clever as one of the favors, especially the suggested marshmallow on a stick. But I can see these two “owners” will end up driving their business into the ground. The only ones I feel bad for are Dede (and I pray she finds another job with a better boss), Max (because his daughter tried to use someone to do what SHE should have had the guts to do), Marcus (I guess, at least, he can right off the loss on his taxes), and now your sister.

Tell your sister to hang in there. While I understand the outrage against this company, sometimes the bad thing about the Internet is that too many anonymous people can post what they like and feel no repercussions. They often forget that those that blog are just people possibly doing something in their spare time because they like to. So give her my very best.

I hope it won’t be long before you guys can tell us that 240Sweet is no more!

  20. Jane

It was painfully obvious within the first few moments with their phony smiles in front of dead eyes that these are not nice people. My husband walked into the room and asked me why I had a look of disgust on my face. What angry, nasty, unstable people. Those poor workers. Poor Marcus. Poor DeDe. Poor society. I’m so sorry your sister was a victim of theirs also. Just WOW.

  21. Suzy

I’m in Australia and I just saw the episode of The Profit. It’s very unlucky your sister had the very bad misfortune to come in contact through business with this particular business – run by these two women. What I can say is that I hope your sister may get to put this whole terrible thing behind her. Workplace people who have personality disorders can range from small companies to very large multinational ones I’ve learnt. Just some people are very good at hiding it, or not being tolerated. For all that has happened hopefully your sister may be able to get something positive from the whole awful experience snd damage to her website / blog. All the best.

  22. Mary Free

I wish the best for you and your family,I love that you are so protective of them,240 sweet did another wrong to your sis,and it’s like a trail of bodies! Watch the show again, watch her tell the dad, that they love him,and they hug him,its so fake! If she is going to evil, why not own it? Admit what you are!
You are great,so I think with your support your sis will recover, and I hope she does!good luck and may God bless!

  23. Nelson

If I lived around there I would apply for a job and when they hire me I would sabotage everything everyday and put them out of business as quick as possible? hint hint

  24. Jixia Ramirez

I am sure your sister is a wonderful person and an innocent bystander. I also watched the show and i dont wish bad on anyone, but someone who intentionally does bad to another person(s) deserves all of the bad karma. As far I am concern 200400pm sweet is a sad waste with those two ladies.

  25. Laura Palka

Although I agree that the owners of 240Sweet seem to be hateful and selfish, I really think it would be a good lesson to your sister to stand by her word. If she gave their product a great review, she should have the strength to stick to it instead of changing it because of the verbal pressure inflicted on her by the Profit fans, of which I am one. There must be a reason she liked their marshmallows. I can only assume her original review was genuine. Of course, if she was asked to originally review the company’s morals and the personalities of its officers then that is different. She needs to hold her ground and not be swayed by others even when situations like this come up where factors other than product quality are revealed.

  26. James

Just got done watching The Profit airing this episode. It hard to believe that such evil exists. During the beginning of the show I actually Googled the company, thinking of ordering. As the show progressed I quickly changed my mind. I, too, hope Dede has recovered. I would imagine, in a way, a load has been lifted from her shoulders by not having to put up with owner like that. Good luck to your sister.

  27. Jacquie

Just watched the show and I am completely shocked at Sam. A word to Sam, get yourself committed…you desperately need it. Alexa, you need a spine and Max, you should have done this a long time ago. You look so much more happy and relaxed. Marcus, I really hope you get your money back or get the $40,000 equipment…that will set them back. Don’t these people know that shows like this can make or break them? So to 240sweet, flush flush, down the toilet you go. If you don’t have the decency to treat nice, then you get no support.

Kimberly, your sister will recover. Society has a way of responding to the initial situation then through time, they change.

  28. Will Granzier

Well first off – I am from South Africa. we dont get the show here but I have an online channel that I follow CNCBC live on so I manage to catch the episodes of The Profit. I LOVE THIS SHOW. I own an import export biz in South Africa and we purchase unique products that we would re-sell in various retailers. When the show started I looked at the product and thought – Wow could actually be a hit here. When The show ended I was like – Geeeez Louise scratch that crazy woman off the list. I think Marcus is open and upfront in his dealing with people. In this episode I think the two owners really misrepresented themselves and their intentions. When He walked in to tackle Sam I knew he wasnt going to do the deal. Anyone in their right mind would be crazy to do a deal with a person who is almost skitzo….. Not good. I checked through most of the reply’s that were posted on the blog and I can honestly say that I share all of your sentiments… Great show… Bad 240 Sweets – BAD

  29. Dina

Omg yay to Marcus buying the domain (genius) and redirecting it’s traffic to Sweet Pete’s (epic genius). I was appalled that those women were so rude and dismissive rather than speechlessly appreciative of Pete’s willingness to share HIS successful experience with them. THAT’S the moment I realized without any doubt that that those 2 women were not to be trusted, and were NOT a proper fit for inclusion under Marcus’s umbrella of companies! Fans of The Profit know why that last statement is on point and requires no further explanation! Sam’s “F.U
” public post calling out anyone who dares to disagree with her ON ANY LEVEL, resulted only in removing any doubt viewers may have been harboring in her defense that she was ever capable of having a single ounce of integrity or to those who wondered if perhaps she may have possessed ANY redeeming qualities whatsoever! Users are losers.

  30. javier ludwig

hello! 2018 here!, 240 sweet is still a little little shop and their web page and facebook fanpage has no visitors. you get what you deserve.
