Eating Out – The New Look of Bonefish Grill

 

My husband and I were happy to hear about the new design look of our local Bonefish grill. We love eating there and always liked their design but couldn’t help but be excited to see the new changes. We braved a storm and together with our 10 week old went out for a much needed wonderful peaceful meal.

One of the wonderful things about Bonefish Grill I think is they are always updating their menu and adding new things. My husband and I in some restaurant worry that we will not enjoy something we are not familiar with but that is never a worry for us at Bonefish Grill. We already make it our mission to try something new there. Their menu now has Wood-Grilled Fish and menu categories including Wood-Grilled Steak and Chops, Signature Starters and Bowls such as Spicy Tuna served with premium grade sesame-seared Ahi Tuna and passion fruit salsa to give your taste buds an unforgettable experience.

 

 

 

I like their special menu board as it makes it so easy to see what is new!

My husband and I picked 2pm on a Saturday to check out the new look as it would be the best time for our baby, she would sleep and if she did make a bit of noise we knew it shouldn’t interrupt anyone’s romantic dinner. About a 3rd of the restaurant at the time was full, one side wasn’t and it gave me the chance to get some nice photos of the new design. I love the layout, table settings, chairs, and the art on the wall, specially the mirrored bonefish. It looks modern, clean, and inviting. I just wanted to fill the chairs with friends too!

One of the things we love about Bonefish is their Ahi-Tuna. It didn’t fail us. We got the large portion and both really enjoyed sharing it.

As you can see there is a lot of wood in this design and it reminds me a bit of Cap Code and home in New England but in a modern way. The design is clean and warm. I wish I would have taken a photo of our waitress, she was so attentive and helpful with her meal suggestions. I noticed that she and others were very kind to all the guests. It was a calm and quiet atmosphere in the middle of the day. Our waitress was named Brittney and if you get her as your waitress here in Augusta GA then I highly recommend listening to her suggestions and her taste pallet is fantastic.

I ordered:

Simply grilled, topped with your choice of one of our signature sauces, served with mushroom ravioli + fresh seasonal vegetable 

The fresh veggie was butternut squash with a ginger honey glaze and both my husband and I enjoyed it. I haven’t had anything like it before and it was a pleasant surprise. I had them add a blue cheese, spinach, bacon topping to my salmon and it certainly kicked up the flavor!

The meal star though had to be the pumpkin ravioli. Keep in mind I dislike pumpkin but I fell in love with the pumpkin on my husbands plate! He ordered:

topped with feta, crispy onions, truffle butter, served with French green beans

It was perfection. The ravioli has a sweetness to it and we both loved them. You should go and try these!

The soft hum of happy talking in the restaurant helped our little one get some sleep. The restaurant had a sling that her car seat fit nicely into. I didn’t feel like she was in the way at all. She was silent for 95% of our meal and it was such a blessing. The nice manager or owner came over to check on us and was completely understanding when I hushed him as I was determined to let her sleep. The meal really was wonderful. After the week my family has had, we needed the quiet.

Speaking of Quiet.

Bonefish Grill does sweet birthdays, quiet ones! Normally in places you see the staff singing/shouting/clapping and making a scene over birthdays. It is one of the reasons I refuse to go out most places on my birthday with anyone but my husband as I don’t like being the center of attention like that. At Bonefish Grill though we got to witness the manager bring over a little box of chocolates quietly to a lady and wish her a happy birthday. I asked the waitress about it and that is standard for this restaurant. I am so pleased to learn this and now my husband knows just where I want to go for my birthday! Bonefish Grill gets it, they really care about the experience their guests have.

A classic custard-style dessert with a caramelized sugar crust, served with berries and fresh whipped cream.

While we both have had custard before neither of us have tried Creme Brulee and goodness we have been missing out. This is the smoothest and creamiest dessert we have ever had and perfect after a fish meal we thing. Normally I go after the chocolate but I am so glad we didn’t! We will be trying the pumpkin one next time!
