Dear Pastor Alois Bell You Should Be Ashamed!

I give God 10% why do you get 18?

These are are words written on a receipt by a Pastor, Alois Bell. She was part of a large party who dinned at an Applebee’s. With over 8 people in the party there is an automatic tip of 18%, this is not something the waitress gets to decide, this is the policy. With over 20 people in the party with this Pastor one would think that there would be some compassion and understanding for what the waitress does. Instead of gratitude, she gets to deal with a rude customer who clearly is not educated on how much the waitress gets paid. It is not simply a matter of 10%, tips make up most of a waiters pay. Their base pay is far below minimum wage and often the waitress has to share that tip with bus boys, the bar, and other staff.

While God might only get 10% of Pastor Bells income, god didn’t insist that she go to that restaurant and didn’t insist she stiff the waitress so rudely.

Doesn’t the Pastor know it is simple manners these days to tip good service 20%? Maybe manners do not matter to her? One thing is clear, her pride matters to her.

“My heart is really broken,” Bell added. “I’ve brought embarrassment to my church and ministry.”

Bell went on to inform Applebee’s that the waitress had posted the receipt online and as such got the waitress fired, though there is nothing against what the waitress did in the handbook for employees with the company.

Pastor Bell should be ashamed for stiffing the waitress in the first place and trying to use god as an excuse, and should further be ashamed for getting the waitress fired. Pride, Pride, Pride. A real evil in the world. The words of the Pastor mean nothing at this point, nothing but action will make this better. I think the Pastor owes the waitress a lot more than an apology, though I am not even seeing a real apology any place online right now anyway.

Because of the actions of Applebees, I doubt I will be eating there ever again.

Dear Pastor Alois Bell, your actions have shown your true colors, you have been found wanting. Your morals are lacking, and you should be ashamed. How are you going to make this right with the waitress? The world is waiting and watching!

Yes, god wants 10% of your income. The poor waitress does not ask for 10% or 18% of your income. Applebees ask for 18% of your total bill (not your income) so from the start your logic is null. You are an idiot and a disgrace to your church. Where in the bible does it say thou shalt not tip a waitress more than 10%. You should not have signed your receipt “pastor Alois Bell” if you did not want your identity known. Vengeance is mine saith the lord however, you took liberity with that one when you got the waitress fired and attempted to get more fired. Shame on you and shame on your “chruch” that allows you to lead a flock. You are nothing but a spiteful women.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who doesn’t think the excuse and actions of that pastor are ok!
