Day 2 and 3 with the elf watching!

Our little elf, a girl, as men seemed doomed to be surrounded by us in this house, is named Glitter to the delight of two of our children. I have read that we can get her a little red skirt, and that might be cute. If one can add cute to this little kind of creepy that is.

Day one was a great reminder to us all, that even with 4 children, we love them all equally. It is a reminder to them to show love towards one another! Often I think back on my child hood and all the fighting between the siblings and I look at the lives of my own children and how relatively peaceful it is. It could be that there is no divorce in home, no step siblings. It could simply be that they are homeschooled and so have grown to be close friends as they spend so much time together. This is not to say they do not have friends outside the house, they very much do, but more than most siblings I think, they have grown up playing together and spending time together.

The older 3 children all found it easy to spot the elf on the lamp. Baby, who is 2 doesn’t understand the game yet. Maybe next year!

Our Elf was not on a shelf on Day 3, she was hanging out on the book tree. She reminded us to be creative. I think we feel a lot more full filled in our lives when we take the time to be creative. Being creative does not even have to always cost money, take the book tree for instance, we already had all the books, and the lights too. See other posts for book tree images! Maybe they will inspire you too!

Some say the boy elf is more creepy to parents, I however look at that tiny little face on our little girl elf and shiver just the same. Can you picture her turning her little head and blinking at you? -shiver- Yes, the little Elf on the Shelf is watching us, waiting….
