Day 103 — Product Review of Samsung QX410

I found this picture to back blog for this day and thought hum… what can be said of the adorable baby I often post banging on the keys? I know! How about the machine she is banging on. First, know that this is one of a long line of laptops I have had and the reason I got this one was because my Storm baby pulled half the keys off my last one, again, and I was just done replacing the keyboard on it.

We got this one after reading some great reviews. There was a sale! DH and I where doing a Dity move across country and getting a bit of money for doing the drive ourselves and so we did something shocking and exciting, we got two matching computers. They are gaming computers, not high end mind you, but fast and wonderful. I will not go into specs and such here as they are 6 months old now and I am sure not special but goodness we love them. The screens on this model by Samsung are beautiful and I have to correct myself and mention they are special. Few other computers if any have screens like these. The biggest part of this review though has to be that the keys can not be pulled off!

The second part of this review though is about Best Buy, and it is not good. They only had two of these laptops at the store near us at the time, one was an upgraded geeksquad machine, pre-loaded software. What a mess. It still has issues with some online games and my husband computer raw has no issues with those games. It is the little things and I swear it is slower! Not a chance though I am going to give this computer back to best buy geeks, who knows what they would do to it! I love it, even being a bit slower than my husbands and having a few gaming issues. It is not the computers fault however, it is just all the stuff best buy did to it and slowly but surely I will fix it all myself. (Or have hubby do it! LOL)

This laptop makes me feel like an internet goddess, two different browsers running, 12 some odd tabs on different sites going. Uploading photos while watching the newest shows, and gaming with friends, all the while battling baby hitting random keys to help me! This machine does what I need it to and more and I am a power user to say the least!

  Update:

This laptop died in January 2013. My 13 year old accidentally spilled milk on it and it fried the keyboard. I thought that it would be ok, we could just get a new keyboard and replace it simply as we had laptops in the past. However the way this one is designed, there is really no getting it apart to do without breaking it. A real computer repair shop might be able to, but we couldn’t manage it and we are big geeks so this is saying something. Until we read reviews about Samsung laptops having replaceable keyboards we will be sticking with other brands. I went back to the brand I had before Samsung, Toshiba, as I know we can repair them!
