Sidewalk Bowling
Sidewalk bowling is easy, set up some times that look a bit like pins and find something that will roll and then find a way for the kids to keep score. Simple enough. Simple though is not my middle name. Bring on the cool factor as my teen says.
Wait till dark!
Then Add:
- 10 Empty plastic bottles (or number of your choice)
- Water
- Glow sticks (lots)
- Ball
- Kids
Now what?
Now you put the water in the empty bottles and then the activated glow sticks. Set up the pins! Let the kids have a blast knocking them down in the dark. The neighborhood kids played till near 10pm when parents came to collect them. I think we would have all played longer if not for the fact that most everyone else had to go in. I think the kid in me that does not like authority specially likes letting my children stay up. We are really lucky though, not everyone has kids who will stay up and sleep in. Some children my friends remind me no matter what will be up with the sun and then miserable all day. The Mommy in me hopes we do not annoy the neighbors and at the first sign that we have or might will do what ever we can to make it right, even if it means not playing outside so late. Till then however…. game on!
