Candling Duck Eggs 2012

Photobucket My little ones are all so excited about hatching duck eggs again this year. My Kinder and Pre-K children joyfully ran around the farm that the eggs where collected at looking at all the animals and asking so many questions. Dear oldest daughter found herself too busy with friends to come along and regretted missing the farm trip later, she vowed to go when we return the hatched ducklings to their parents!
 Incubator Date: April 22
Candling Date: May 2nd — Day 10 — 16 of 18 fertile eggs! All look viable!
Hope Pixie 12 helped to photograph and determine viability while explaining her observations to her younger siblings who in turn used a camera phone to look more closely themselves. Storm Baby (4) seems partial to egg #5 and wanted to show it around the house while singing to it. Thankfully we convinced her that the safest and best place for her favorite egg is in the incubator till it hatches but promised we will check in on it again in about 10 days! Mr. Handsome likes egg 16 and spent time wondering if he could guess it’s color remembering all the colors of ducks we had last year. He specially liked the black and yellow duckling last year names Moon.
Expected Hatch Date: May 20th
