This book about growing culinary herbs is fantastic. It is put together simply for those of us who might not have the green thumbs we wish we did. I specially love this book because in the house we moved to we are going to do more indoor than out door growing and I needed advice on this.
I found this book is 85 pages of helpfulness. It starts out with the basics and then digs deep to help you grow specific herbs in the way that is best for them. I learned that the biggest reason I kill house plants is because I over water them and that watering is not something you do on the same day ever week but rather it is all about feeling the soil and knowing the plant. I learned what plants I learned how to properly harvest and store herbs. I have books and books on plants and growing and yet I swear I learned more from this one than all the others! It is well written, clean, with nice photos and so many ideas and tips.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I tried to grow them last year, with no success.
I have a hard time with cilantro. It seems to go to seed before I get a significant harvest.
I need to know how to keep bugs from growing them.
Summer flowers are my hardest thing to keep alive.
This is how bad a garner I am, Domestic Diva just educated me on how Cilantro can go to seed. I honestly never knew that.
I haven’t tried growing herbs yet, but this year is the year!
I’ve tried a few times to grow parsley or cilantro but I never get it just right.
I read “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver last month and it made me want to grow as much as a can this year…unfortunately we’re in the middle of buying our first house so the only planting I’ll be doing is inside for awhile…my only previous success has been with basil and parsley. I never have any luck with cilantro or lavender.
I’ve only grown a couple types of herbs successfully…I am hoping this year to have better luck with lots of differnet ones 🙂

I have a hard time with Rosemary. Every year I bring my potted Rosemary plant indoors and try to keep it alive through the winter… most of the time the thing is a horrible ragged thing by the end of the winter and I end up buying a new Rosemary plant.
Rosemary.
I have tried to grow a few different ones and I failed! Ugh.
Summer flowers are my hardest thing to keep alive.
my green thumb seems to wear a black cloak and carry a sickle so I am trying to learn more before murdering more little plants…
cilantro just will not grow for me.
