Bernadette Engagements MS Review


This is by far the worst bridal experience I have ever been a part of. This review will not be pretty I must warn you. My sister is getting married in 5 days and finally she got her last 2 dresses each with issues. I must start at the beginning though. 
  My sister was shopping around months ago for dresses. She found this store and they really sold themselves telling her that other places like David’s Bridal will treat her like just a number and that her shop could make them happy and give them a personal touch. 
  The first issues came up a week and a half after they ordered dresses for all the women. It is a large bridal party. My sister called to make sure that payments went through ok as different people where paying for their dresses. She was then told that one of the dresses she ordered was on back order and would not make it in time. This is the dress for my 4 year old. The owner claimed that she had just found out about it that morning and was going to call. She then offered to sell my sister other more costly dresses but in the end talked her into getting a 4 year old an xsmall dress in women size. 
 The next issue I am involved in with them was when the orange dress for my 12 year old came in stained and my sister was told that the owner would steam it out or order a new one. Over a week later we go to pick up the dresses and pay them all off. The 4 year old dress is still not there like she was told it would be and the Orange dress is draped over a decoration and had not been touched in a week, still stained and no replacement ordered. The man at the desk said he didn’t work there though others who work in the mall say he is there whenever they go past the shop. He could not find payments and was just a hot mess to put it simply. Admitting that they messed up he then told my sister who was near in tears that perfect wedding mean it will be a short wedding so a wedding with issues is good luck, as if they are doing her a favor by messing things up. 
  Today my sister went to get the two dresses; the xsmall is of course way to big but our mother will take it in. The shop did not offer at all to help with this or discount for their mistake. 
  The big issue came though when they tried to put the orange size small dress on my tall thin 12 year old daughter. It did not fit. We had sent proper measurements and the owner said it was a small. She was wrong. Rather than admit that though she told my 12 year old skinny daughter to go on a DIET. I am livid. My daughter spent a lot of the day balling her eyes out. The owner then broke the zipper on the dress while it was on my daughter. She did not offer to fix it, did not offer a discount. We now have to figure out how to let this orange dress out in 4 days for the wedding. 
It is almost like the stain is glue of some kind. It has a stiff texture to it.
Today the dress was on the for sale rack, no discount, as if the owner is trying to sell it and hopes the damage will be over looked. It really is rather sad in my opinion.
 
 
    I am stunned and disappointed with the lack of communication from this shop, from the rudeness of the owner, from the lack of consideration, and how they took no responsibility for any of it. 
  Yes, we will be filing with the BBB. 
 I work with some amazing companies on this blog to review for my readers. They have been so amazing and customer service has shined with any issues I have had. They know what they are doing. This shop however does not and really they just don’t care once you order the dresses and they have your money. This shop gives a bad name to small businesses. We will never spend a cent there again and will make sure others know of this experience as well.

This man is apparently the man that was working there and caused part of the issues my sister and I had to deal with. I wish he would have been honest. Instead he has tried to blame everything on my sister and taken no responsibility. Just one more reason to never shop there in my opinion!

    Is the shop owner in business with a child psychiatrist? It sounds like they could be good partners. Does she have ANY idea how to relate to a 12 year old girl? I am so sorry.

    That’s really sad and terrible, in my opinion! I will be retweeting and sharing this post all over FB. The very least they should have done was offer you a full refund. I hope the BBB helps!!!

    Oh my goodness, this whole mess is a total disaster and how stressful for your poor sister, the last thing a bride needs.
    HOW DARE THEY TELL ANY CHILD TO DIET.
    That’s the bit that really bothered me. I hope you are able to work the two dresses out so your little girls can look and feel beautiful.

    I can’t imagine going through that on a good day, but in the days leading up to a wedding? I would have lost it.
