So just what does a sorry looking sock monkey have to do with anything you might be wondering. EVERYTHING!
I was not feeling so well so with my husband helping to watch our littles I found myself in bed, just wondering around online in hopes I would feel better soon. My oldest daughter makes her way in quietly, and ties this little guy to my bed. I don’t notice at first, and then I turn and there he is, looking at me all sad and there is my oldest daughter, standing there giggling. She points out his poor tail has a small hole in it and if poor monkey does not get away that baby will eat him. She is not kidding, the baby bites and tries to eat everything. So this sad looking monkey is in my room with me now and he someone makes me smile a great deal. The angle of how he is looking at me, my side of the bed even… just so cute! This is what it is all about, these small moments that are so special because they are shared with my children, with my husband. I gather these moments and don’t want to miss any of them. I think this is one of the great reasons we homeschool, so that we can share the moments together. No one in my family feels like they are on an island alone. I grew up a child of divorce, I felt disconnected from family, from the world, I felt like that as a small child even. My children do not feel this way and that is what it is about.
