Our Elf on the Shelf helped remind us all that there are only 4 more days till Christmas. This was a wake up call to this Mommy who has a lot of wrapping to do before we leave tomorrow night for our trip up north. There is just so much to do!

It is a time to remember the light is coming, the darkest night is past. It is one of the oldest holidays in human history, older than Christmas by far. I have always enjoyed Yule traditions and love watching my pagan friends celebrate and knowing many of the traditions celebrated today by other religions come from this much older one.

Best gift this year for me: A little candle light my love made me, a reminder of one he made me 14 years ago. “The Light of my Love for the Love of my Life.” Back then I needed a little light to read by at night as I drove my parents nuts leaving the light on to read every night. It was the perfect gift and I still remember it and wish we could find it all these years and so many moves later.
