1. Heart Beat – Predicting Babys Gender By Heart Beat
Have you heard the old wives’ tale about the difference in heart rates between boys and girls?
A friends midwife said that (according to the old wives’ tale) above 140 is supposed to be girls and below is supposed to be boys. Like almost of all these ways to predict this of course is something I take with a more than a grain of salt, but they are fun and thinking back over my 6 other babies, I think this one might has been true for them!
This baby for us has had a heart rate between 144 – 160
2. Baking Soda and Urine
Another old wives tale that some of the women in my due date group are trying now. I have to admit, it makes me giggle! I have not tried this, I just find it amusing! 2 tablespoons of backing soda then pee, and if it fizzles up it is thought to be a boy! I have heard this should not be tried before 10 weeks.
I didn’t personally try this one!
3. Very Dry Skin Means Your Having a Boy!
I do have very terribly dry skin!
4. Morning Sickness Means Girl!
I feel like I got very lucky that the start of this pregnancy however things got a lot harder near the end of the first trimester and now well into the second trimester.
5. Moody means girl and Happy means Boy
I have to admit I have been very moody and while I love my life and am Happy over all, this surprise little one has brought many emotions!
6. Headaches Mean Boy
I have more than my fair share of these. I don’t like taking medications so I try not to take tylenol but even when I do, it doesn’t seem very effective for this! Sometimes a bit of caffeine helps.
7. Fast Growing Hair Means Boy
My hair has been growing very quickly!
8. Good Balance Means Girl!
Alas, I am clumsy!
9. Sleeping on Right Means Girl!
I have been sleeping on the right but I know later on in the pregnancy it will be best to sleep on my left.
10. Chinese Calender Says….
I think about everyone knows about the Chinese Calender for gender prediction. It has been mostly right for me so far, this time it says Boy!
We will be announcing the gender of this coming little one on Easter!
In the end, the best way to know if baby is a boy or a girl by the DNA tests they now offer around 12 weeks or Gender ultrasounds after 15 weeks!
